Our final destination was Paris. This was a convenient base for our day trips to Lisieux

We were to take a train from Rome to Paris, but the Italians were on strike. We took a bus to Nice instead. On the way to Paris we stopped at [Monte Carlo], Monaco to check out the ocean views.
We traveled from Nice to Paris aboard the [TGV[ a very comfortable, quiet, and fast electric train. It even looks fast.
[St. Bernadette's body] was visible at Sisters of Nevers Chapel at Saint-Gildard.

Cathedral of Lisieux. This is [St. Therese's] parish church when growing up and the place where she made her first Holy Communion.
This is the gothic back side to St. Theresa's parish church.
Pilgrims walk in the garden of the convent where St. Bernadette stayed during the latter part of her life. She was originally buried in the St. Joseph Chapel (background).
